Medical Internships
MEDICAL, CARE & WELFARE PROGRAMME

HOSPITAL or MEDICAL CENTRE or DENTAL CENTREMedical Internships
This programme is restricted to medical and dental students, or those studying for nursing qualifications. Fully qualified or experienced candidates, wishing to improve their language skills or gain experience in England, are also most welcome to apply.

Due to the nature of these placements, certain conditions will apply and candidates are recommended to apply early, as internships are in great demand. Applicants with all levels of English can apply, but your English ability will determine the type of placement arranged for you. Placements may include live-in accommodation, subsidised by the host organisation.

HOSPICE or CENTRES FOR PHYSICALLY or MENTALLY DISABLED
If you are studying for, or qualified in, a Medical, Nursing or Social Welfare related field, this programme may be perfect for you. Interns usually live with a homestay family locally. Basic English is essential, intermediate would be an advantage.

Once again, certain conditions and restrictions will apply and you are recommended to make your application as early as possible.

NURSING AND CARE HOMES FOR THE ELDERLY
Medical InternshipThis programme is ideal for those either studying for, or qualified in a Social Welfare field. Working daily with clients, will give you excellent experience and quickly improve your English. Basic English is necessary.

Most of our interns also choose to study for an English Care qualification while working and many take an English language course as well. This programme is normally restricted to a minimum of six months internship, but most interns remain here for a complete year. Interns live with a homestay family. It is normal for work hosts to provide a meal for you each day and pay 'pocket money' to cover your expenses.

RESOURCE CENTRE or DAY CENTRE
If you are interested in the welfare of any group of disadvantaged people, this type of internship could benefit your future career significantly. Previous experience is not necessary, but an interest in social welfare is essential.

Working with blind, deaf, disabled or other groups of people, you will be part of a team dedicated to their rehabilitation or training. Basic English is required. This is one of the most rewarding types of internship and programmes can be from one month, to one year. Students, graduates, or candidates hoping to make a career in any field of social welfare should apply.
